On the Application of Mbembe's Thesis of Necropolitics/Necropower to 'Apache Studies'--sustaining the critique of U.S. Hyper-Sovereignty

Currently revising Chapter 3, a good thing Professor Shepherd nudged me to slow down and 'do' the Anglo-American early-to-late modern build-up of narratives which supported hyper-sovereignty, i.e. the power to kill without end. Currently reviewing Mbembe's work which will support my thesis (forthcoming in my dissertation!, sorry, can't share yet, though after May will link the diss here, so thanks and be patient!) I'm Searching for a Better Fit: Democratizing Knowledge and Mobilizing Social Movement Texts and Contexts Beyond Individualization

Frustrated with how dependent the Sharepoint model is upon one person's ideations, skills, knowledge and energy, and thinking about future projects as I move into the Job Market in search of a new home, I got to browsing digital journals this morning. I found good news and am feeling hopeful that my move forward toward new communities will be empowered through critical dialogues and collaborations with engaged civic minded actors. Although I will be focused on completing my dissertation over the next 45 days, and the intensity of that effort, I am mindful that I want new tools and methods, and seeking new commitments from collaborators... to go further, to build new engines and scales . I would advise anyonewho is seriously committed to the larger structural uses of E-portfolios by contemporary students-- who by the way do not view the college classroom as their most significant 'center' of knowledge and tool acquisition, (providing one is inclined to view the technology and control over the production as the domain of liberatory education)--,to examine their assumptions about knowledge and power and the political will of the Indigenous peoples. Like it or not, Indigenous Peoples are re-shaping international law, rights regimes, and more borders than ever before--and this is increasingly relevant to e-portfolios. We need a new framework.
